What is a Pronoun?

الضمير هو كلمة قصيرة نستخدمها بدلاً من الاسم. إنه يساعدنا على التحدث بسلاسة دون تكرار نفس الكلمات مراراً وتكراراً. على سبيل المثال، بدلاً من قول "ديفيد سعيد. ديفيد يقرأ"، نقول: "ديفيد سعيد. هو (He) يقرأ."
A pronoun is a short word we use instead of a name or a noun. It helps us speak smoothly without repeating the same words over and over. For example, instead of saying, "David is happy. David is reading," we say, "David is happy. He is reading."

Here are the most common singular pronouns you need to know:

• I (أنا): استخدم "I" عندما تتحدث عن نفسك. (قم دائماً بكتابة حرف "I" كحرف كبير).
  I: Use "I" when you are talking about yourself. (Always capitalize the letter "I").
  مثال: أنا أتعلم الإنجليزية.
  Example: I am learning English.
• You (أنتَ/أنتِ): استخدم "You" عندما تتحدث مباشرة إلى الشخص الذي يستمع إليك.
  You: Use "You" when you are talking directly to the person listening to you.

  Example: You are a great student.
• He (هو): استخدم "He" عندما تتحدث عن ولد أو رجل واحد.
  He: Use "He" when you are talking about one boy or man.

• It (هو/هي لغير العاقل): يُستخدم لشيء، أو مكان، أو حيوان واحد.
  It: Used for one object, place, or animal. 
  مثال: انظر إلى الكلب. إنه يركض.
  Example: Look at the dog. It is running.
• We (نحن): يُستخدم للتحدث عن نفسك وأشخاص آخرين معاً.
  We: Used for yourself and other people together. 
  مثال: نحن ذاهبون إلى الحديقة.
  Example: We are going to the park.
• They (هم/هن): يُستخدم للتحدث عن شخصين أو حيوانين أو شيئين أو أكثر.
  They: Used for two or more other people, animals, or things. 
  مثال: إنهم أصدقائي.
  Example: They are my friends.
