دليل قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية: أسماء الإشارة (This/That/These/Those)، وصيغ الملكية، وعبارات "There Is/Are"

Understanding how to point out specific objects, express ownership, and state existence are essential milestones in learning beginner English grammar. This comprehensive guide breaks down the critical differences between the demonstrative words "this," "that," "these," and "those," teaching you how physical distance dictates their use. You will also learn how to properly apply possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her) to indicate ownership without confusing them with pronouns. Furthermore, we explore how to declare that something exists using the phrases "there is" and "there are," including their negative and question forms. Finally, this lesson covers simple commands (the imperative mood), showing you how to give direct instructions and form negative commands effortlessly.

1. أسماء الإشارة: This مقابل That
1. Demonstratives: This vs. That

في اللغة الإنجليزية، نستخدم كلمات تسمى أسماء الإشارة (demonstratives) للإشارة إلى أشخاص أو أماكن أو أشياء محددة. تُستخدم الكلمتان this و that حصريًا للأسماء المفردة (عنصر واحد فقط). يعود الفرق بينهما إلى المسافة المادية أو الزمنية.
In English, we use words called demonstratives to point out specific people, places, or things. The words this and that are used exclusively for singular nouns (just one item). The difference between them comes down to physical or temporal distance.

  • This (هذا/هذه): تُستخدم لعنصر واحد قريب منك (يمكنك لمسه أو بجوارك مباشرة). تُستخدم أيضًا للأشياء التي تحدث الآن.
This: Used for a single item that is near you (you can touch it or it is right next to you). It is also used for things happening right now.
  • That (ذلك/تلك): تُستخدم لعنصر واحد بعيد عنك (عليك أن تشير إليه عبر الغرفة أو عبر المدينة). تُستخدم أيضًا للأشياء التي حدثت في الماضي.
That: Used for a single item that is far from you (you have to point at it across the room or across town). It is also used for things that happened in the past.
قريب (This): هذه التفاحة في يدي لذيذة.
Near (This): This apple in my hand is delicious.

قريب (This): من هذا الشخص الواقف بجانبي؟
Near (This): Who is this person standing next to me?

بعيد (That): تلك السيارة عبر الشارع سريعة جداً.
Far (That): That car across the street is very fast.

بعيد (That): هل ترى ذلك الطائر في السماء؟
Far (That): Do you see that bird in the sky?

2. أسماء الإشارة للجمع: These مقابل Those
2. Plural Demonstratives: These vs. Those

عندما تتحدث عن الأسماء الجمع (عنصرين أو أكثر)، لا يمكنك استخدام "this" أو "that". بدلاً من ذلك، يجب عليك استخدام نظائرها في الجمع: these و those. تبقى قواعد المسافة كما هي تمامًا.
When you are talking about plural nouns (two or more items), you cannot use "this" or "that." Instead, you must use their plural counterparts: these and those. The rules of distance remain exactly the same.

  • These (هؤلاء/هذه): صيغة الجمع لـ "this". تُستخدم لعدة عناصر قريبة منك.
These: The plural form of "this." Used for multiple items that are near you.
  • Those (أولئك/تلك): صيغة الجمع لـ "that". تُستخدم لعدة عناصر بعيدة عنك.
Those: The plural form of "that." Used for multiple items that are far from you.
قريب (These): هذه الأحذية التي أرتديها ضيقة جداً.
Near (These): These shoes I am wearing are very tight.

قريب (These): هل هذه أوراقك على مكتبي؟
Near (These): Are these your papers on my desk?

بعيد (Those): تلك الجبال في المسافة جميلة.
Far (Those): Those mountains in the distance are beautiful.

بعيد (Those): يرجى إحضار تلك الصناديق هناك.
Far (Those): Please bring me those boxes over there.

3. صفات الملكية (My, Your, His, Her)
3. Possessive Adjectives (My, Your, His, Her)

تُستخدم صفات الملكية لإظهار الملكية أو الحيازة - فهي تخبرنا لمن ينتمي شيء ما. على عكس ضمائر الملكية (مثل "mine" أو "yours")، يجب أن تأتي صفات الملكية دائمًا قبل الاسم مباشرة.
Possessive adjectives are used to show ownership or possession—they tell us who something belongs to. Unlike possessive pronouns (like "mine" or "yours"), possessive adjectives must always go directly before a noun.

إليك القائمة الكاملة لصفات الملكية مقترنة بضمائر الفاعل المقابلة لها:
Here is the complete list of possessive adjectives paired with their corresponding subject pronouns:

ضمير الفاعل
Subject Pronoun
صفة الملكية
Possessive Adjective
جملة كمثال
Example Sentence
I (أنا)My (لي)هاتفي يرن.
My phone is ringing.
You (أنت/أنتم)Your (لك/لكم)هل هذه سترتك؟
Is this your jacket?
He (هو)His (له)ترك جون مفاتيحه.

She (هي)Her (لها)تحب سارة وظيفتها الجديدة.

The dog wagged its tail.
We (نحن)Our (لنا)فاز فريقنا بالمباراة.
Our team won the game.
They (هم)Their (لهم)فتح الطلاب كتبهم.
The students opened their books.

قاعدة حاسمة يجب تذكرها: لا تخلط بين its (للملكية) و it's (اختصار لـ "it is").
Crucial Rule to Remember: Do not confuse its (possessive) with it's (a contraction of "it is").

4. التعبير عن الوجود: There is / There are
4. Expressing Existence: There is / There are

عندما نريد أن نقول إن شيئًا ما موجود في مكان معين، نستخدم العبارتين "there is" و "there are". يعتمد الاختيار بينهما كليًا على الاسم الذي يأتي بعد الفعل مباشرة.
When we want to say that something exists in a specific place, we use the phrases "there is" and "there are". The choice between the two depends entirely on the noun that comes immediately after the verb.

  • There is (يوجد للمفرد): تُستخدم مع الأسماء المفردة (عنصر واحد) والأسماء غير المعدودة (مثل الماء، الهواء، المعلومات).
There is: Used with singular nouns (one item) and uncountable nouns (like water, air, information).
  • There are (يوجد للجمع): تُستخدم مع الأسماء المعدودة في صيغة الجمع (عنصرين أو أكثر).
There are: Used with plural countable nouns (two or more items).

تكوين النفي والأسئلة
Forming Negatives and Questions

لجعلها منفية، أضف not (أو الاختصارات isn't / aren't). لطرح سؤال، ببساطة قم بتبديل ترتيب الكلمات إلى "Is there...?" أو "Are there...?".
To make it negative, add not (or the contractions isn't / aren't). To ask a question, simply swap the order of the words to "Is there...?" or "Are there...?".

إثبات مفرد: توجد قطة على السطح.
Singular Affirmative: There is a cat on the roof. (Contraction: There's a cat...)

إثبات جمع: توجد ثلاث تفاحات على الطاولة.
Plural Affirmative: There are three apples on the table.

نفي: لا يوجد أي حليب متبقٍ في الثلاجة.

Question: Is there a bank near here?

سؤال: هل يوجد العديد من الأشخاص في الحفلة؟
Question: Are there many people at the party?

5. الأوامر البسيطة (صيغة الأمر)
5. Simple Commands (The Imperative Mood)

عندما ترغب في إعطاء تعليمات مباشرة، أو أمر، أو تحذير، فإنك تستخدم صيغة الأمر (imperative mood). تكوين الأوامر البسيطة في اللغة الإنجليزية سهل للغاية لأنك تسقط الفاعل تمامًا (كلمة "you" أي "أنت" مفهومة ضمنيًا) وتبدأ الجملة مباشرة بالصيغة الأساسية (المصدر) للفعل.
When you want to give a direct instruction, an order, or a warning, you use the imperative mood. Forming simple commands in English is incredibly easy because you completely drop the subject (the word "you" is implied) and start the sentence directly with the base form of the verb.

الأوامر المثبتة
Affirmative Commands

ابدأ الجملة بفعل الحركة (المصدر).
Start the sentence with the action verb.

اجلس، من فضلك.
Sit down, please.

استمع بعناية إلى التعليمات.
Listen carefully to the instructions.

الأوامر المنفية
Negative Commands

لإخبار شخص ما بألا يفعل شيئًا، ابدأ الجملة دائمًا بـ Do not (أو الاختصار الشائع Don't)، متبوعًا بالفعل في المصدر.
To tell someone not to do something, always begin the sentence with Do not (or the common contraction Don't), followed by the base verb.

لا تلمس ذلك الموقد الساخن!
Do not touch that hot stove!

لا تنسَ مظلتك.
Don't forget your umbrella.

لا تركض في الممرات.
Don't run in the hallways.
