1. ما هي الأفعال المركبة وكيف تعمل؟
1. What are Phrasal Verbs and How Do They Work?

الفعل المركب هو عبارة عن فعل (Verb) + جزء إضافي (Particle). هذا الجزء الإضافي قد يكون حرف جر (مثل: in, on, at, for) أو حال (مثل: up, down, away, back).
المشكلة الكبرى هنا هي أن المعنى الجديد غالباً لا يمت بصلة لمعنى الفعل الأصلي بمفرده!

مثال توضيحي (Example):
الفعل Give وحده يعني: يُعطي (To hand something to someone).
إذا أضفنا إليه (Up) يصبح Give up ويعني: يستسلم أو يقلع عن شيء (To quit or surrender).

الفعل Look وحده يعني: ينظر (To direct one's eyes).
إذا أضفنا إليه (After) يصبح Look after ويعني: يعتني بـ (To take care of someone/something).

2. الأفعال المتعدية واللازمة
2. Transitive vs. Intransitive Phrasal Verbs

مثل الأفعال العادية تماماً، تنقسم الأفعال المركبة من حيث حاجتها لمفعول به (Object) إلى قسمين:

أولاً: الأفعال اللازمة (Intransitive Phrasal Verbs)

هي الأفعال التي لا تحتاج إلى مفعول به ليكتمل معناها. الحدث يقع وينتهي عند الفاعل.

الفعل المركبالمعنىمثال (Example)
Wake upيستيقظI wake up at 7 AM.
Grow upيكبر / ينضجShe grew up in London.
Break downيتعطل (للآلات)My car broke down yesterday.

ثانياً: الأفعال المتعدية (Transitive Phrasal Verbs)

هي الأفعال التي يجب أن يتبعها مفعول به (Object)، وإلا فلن يكون للجملة معنى.

مثال: إذا قلت "Please turn on" (من فضلك شغّل..)، سيسألك المستمع: تشغيل ماذا؟ يجب إضافة مفعول به.
الصحيح: Please turn on the TV. (من فضلك شغل التلفاز).

3. الأفعال القابلة للفصل وغير القابلة للفصل
3. Separable vs. Inseparable Phrasal Verbs

هذه هي القاعدة الأهم والأكثر إرباكاً للمتعلمين. الأفعال المتعدية (التي تأخذ مفعولاً به) تنقسم بدورها إلى قسمين:

1. الأفعال غير القابلة للفصل (Inseparable Phrasal Verbs)

في هذا النوع، يلتصق الفعل بالجزء الإضافي ولا يمكن الفصل بينهما أبداً. يجب أن يأتي المفعول به دائماً بعدهما.

Look for (يبحث عن)
Correct: I am looking for my keys.
Incorrect: I am looking my keys for.

Run into (يصادف شخصاً صدفة)
Correct: I ran into Ahmed at the mall.
Incorrect: I ran Ahmed into at the mall.

2. الأفعال القابلة للفصل (Separable Phrasal Verbs)

هنا، يمكنك وضع المفعول به (إذا كان اسماً ظاهراً) إما بين جزأي الفعل المركب، أو بعدهما. كلا الطريقتين صحيحتان تماماً.

Turn off (يطفئ)
Correct 1 (After): Please turn off the light.
Correct 2 (Middle): Please turn the light off.

القاعدة الذهبية الصارمة للضمائر (The Pronoun Rule!)

إذا كان الفعل قابلاً للفصل، وكان المفعول به عبارة عن ضمير (Pronoun) مثل (it, them, him, her, me, us)، فإنه يجب إجبارياً أن يوضع في المنتصف (بين الفعل والحرف). لا يجوز وضعه في النهاية أبداً.

Pick up (يلتقط / يقل شخصاً)
Context: Talking about Ahmed (Him)
Correct: I will pick him up at 5 PM.
Incorrect: I will pick up him at 5 PM.

Try on (يقيس الملابس)
Context: Talking about a shirt (It)
Correct: You should try it on.
Incorrect: You should try on it.
